About Vet Voice Foundation

Founded in 2009, Vet Voice Foundation is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that mobilizes veterans to defend democracy, protect civil-military norms, and advocate for policies that strengthen our communities. We work at the intersection of policy, storytelling, litigation support, and public education to elevate veteran voices across the country.

About the Position

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) at Vet Voice Foundation is a senior leadership role responsible for scaling a sustainable, high-impact fundraising operation supporting the organization’s mission to empower veterans, uphold democratic values, and drive change. This position is ideal for a strategic and hands-on development leader with deep experience in major gifts and institutional support, who can bring structure, systems, and long-term vision to a growing fundraising program.

Working closely with executive leadership, fundraising team, the Board of Directors, and key internal partners, the CDO will lead fundraising strategy and execution across all revenue streams. The CDO will also play a critical role in implementing systems such as a CRM, using data to inform strategy, and managing processes for a growing development team.

The Chief Development Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that Vet Voice Foundation has the resources, systems, and partnerships needed to meet this moment. As threats to democratic norms and civil-military principles grow, this role builds the sustainable fundraising engine that allows the organization to act boldly, independently, and for the long term. The CDO will translate high-impact veteran-led work into compelling cases for support, strengthen major donor and institutional partnerships, and help scale the organization from a relationship-driven model into a durable, data-informed development operation that can support Vet Voice Foundation’s mission for years to come.
