Vet Voice Foundation Applauds Rep Escobar — Calls for Passage of Castner Range Protection Act via NDAA

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released her Castner Range Protection Act as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). In response Mary Kaszynski, Vet Voice Foundation’s Director of Government Relations, released the following statement:

“Protecting and expanding our nation’s public lands is the duty of any patriot — veterans understand this, military families understand this, Congresswoman Escobar understands this.

“With the NDAA process, Congress has the opportunity to safeguard the Castner Range through the creation of a new national monument — ensuring military and cultural heritage sites are protected for generations to come and stimulating the local economy.

“It’s encouraging to see the military and public land advocates, including military veterans, come together and work hand-in-hand to protect important places — including former military training sites — like the Castner Range.

“We call for the Castner Range Protection Act to be included in the final passage of the NDAA and we’re at the ready to do our part to see that it happens.”
