Vet Voice Foundation Statement on the Biden Administration’s Release of the America the Beautiful Initiative Progress Report

Washington, D.C.– Today the Biden Administration released a progress report on the America the Beautiful initiative. In reaction to the report’s release, Vet Voice Foundation’s Mary Kaszynski released the following statement:

“We applauded President Biden when the America the Beautiful initiative was announced as a major victory for veterans and military families. Veterans have a longstanding and well-documented relationship with environmental conservation and many view safeguarding our wild spaces as an extension of their service.

“President Biden and his team – in coordination with recreationists, business owners, anglers, hunters, Tribal leaders, and veterans – have achieved some major goals, particularly related to undoing damage inflicted by the previous Administration. But there’s much more to do.

“2030 is quickly approaching and the time to act is now. We’re hopeful President Biden will proactively use his authority via the Antiquities Act to designate places like Avi Kwa Ame and Caster Range as national monuments.

“We remain ready to do everything in our power to ensure the America the Beautiful initiative is made a reality and see our nation’s treasured public lands are around and safeguarded for generations to come.”
