VVF Statement on Nomination of Tommy Beaudreau to Deputy Secretary of the Interior Department

Washington, D.C. — Today the Biden administration announced the nomination of Tommy Beaudreau to be deputy secretary of the Interior Department. In reaction to the nomination, Vet Voice Foundation’s Mary Kaszynski released the following statement:

“Throughout his campaign President Biden made promises to undo the wreckage of the Trump administration and safeguard our public lands and wildspaces for generations to come. Since taking office, he’s been making good on those promises and today’s announcement of Mr. Beaudreau’s nomination is no exception.

“During his time at the Department of the Interior during the Obama administration, Mr. Beadreau made himself known as an ally of our public lands and his experience at the department will be critical to undoing the damage of the Trump administration. We applaud and support his nomination wholeheartedly.

“We look forward to continuing to work with the Biden administration to amplify the voices of veterans and military families in policy debates, particularly those related to environmental conservation.

“Veterans have long-championed environmental stewardship and the Vet Voice Foundation will continue to do so here in Washington and in states throughout the country. “
