VVF Statement on the Confirmation of Tommy Beaudreau to Deputy Secretary of the Interior Department
Washington, D.C. — Today Tommy Beaudreau was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as deputy secretary of the Department of the Interior. In reaction to the confirmation, Vet Voice Foundation’s Mary Kaszynski released the following statement:
“Throughout his campaign, President Biden made promises to undo the wreckage of the Trump administration and safeguard our public lands and wildspaces for generations to come. Since taking office, he’s been making good on those promises and today’s confirmation of Mr. Beaudreau is a great step towards continuing that progress.
“During his previous time at the Department of the Interior, Mr. Beaudreau made himself known as an ally of our public lands and his experience at the department will be critical to undoing the damage of the Trump administration. We applaud and support his confirmation wholeheartedly.
“We look forward to continuing to work with President Biden, Secretary Haaland, and now Deputy Secretary Beaudreau to amplify the voices of veterans and military families in policy debates, particularly those related to environmental conservation.
“Veterans have long-championed environmental stewardship and the Vet Voice Foundation will continue to do so here in Washington and in states throughout the country.”
