Vet Voice Foundation Statement Following Announcement That The Great American Outdoors Act Is Coming to the Senate Floor

Today Vet Voice Foundation’s Will Goodwin, a US Army veteran, released the following statement:

“While far from over, we’re thrilled to see the common-sense, bipartisan Great American Outdoors Act is heading to the floor of the US Senate for a vote.

“We’ve been fighting, alongside our fellow veterans — from coast-to-coast, on the ground in states and here in DC — to help make this happen.

“Aside from the well-documented healing properties that our public lands provide, legislation like the Great American Outdoors Act serves as a great step in our nation’s economic recovery. Specifically, the Land and Water Conservation Fund helps generate a US outdoor recreation economy of $887 billion in consumer spending and creates 7.6 million jobs. All without costing the American taxpayer a dime.

“We call on every member of the Senate to vote in favor of the Great American Outdoors Act and we ask that the House of Representatives to bring this same legislation up for a vote as soon as possible.”
